Wind Developer's SODAR Tool Kit
A technology older than the modern wind industry, sodar (an acronym for Sonic Detection and Ranging) was invented in the early 1960s -- before the invention of weather radar.
Sodar is important to wind meteorologists because it is ideally suited to measuring the lower boundary layer (the lowest layer of the earth's atmosphere) -- below the sweep of radar and above the ground. This, of course, is where the wind is that matters most to wind turbines.
The Wind Developer's SODAR Tool Kit will show you:
- How to use sodar to finance your wind projects at significant cost savings
- How sodar is being used in wind industry applications ranging from prospecting through O&M
The tool kit includes:
- Case studies showing how our customers used sodar in their wind development projects
- A briefing discussing the most cost-effective ways to measure for a bankable wind study
- An article reviewing the use of remote sensing in today's wind industry
